Abuse of power run amok
Recently, as President Obama delivered the commencement address to the graduating class of Ohio State, he stated, “They’ll warn that tyranny always lurking just around the corner. You should reject these voices.”
It conjures up images of the past and warnings of “pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.” As a flood of information makes it way to the headlines of main stream media, the abuse of power so many of us have noted for so long is finally seeing the light of day.
And it’s not pretty.
Aside from non-profits and tea-party groups being forced to handover everything from their donors names and locations along every comment via their facebook pages, the continuation of claims is overwhelming.
Among the claims are the following.
“IRS denied tax-exempt status to pro-lifers on behalf of Planned Parenthood” – A non-profit Law firm has claimed two separate pro-life organizations, including the Coalition for Life in Iowa, were told by an IRS agent they would be allowed their tax-exempt status if they submitted a document with all board members signatures, under perjury of law, declaring they would not picket nor protest any Planned Parenthood.
Franklin Graham claims his organization as well as his Father’s, Billy Graham, were also targeted – Franklin Graham sent a letter to the President on Tuesday outlining how his organization, Samaritans Purse, was targeted by the IRS as well as his Father’s organization, The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. In the letter he claims since they encouraged voters to support “candidates who base their decisions on biblical principles and support the nation of Israel” for being one of the reasons they were targeted.
President Obama’s second cousin claims IRS abuse and termination from Washington Post at White House urging – President Obama is once again separating himself as a “governing” member of this administration. However, not just IRS claims are filtering in but direct accusations toward the White House. Dr Milton Wolf, a second cousin to the President, tweeted on Tuesday the IRS had withheld his tax return for months without explanation and that he lost his job as a Washington Times columnist at the urging of the White House after he made critical statements concerning Obamacare.
Many more targeted than originally reported – An abuse of power includes the release of misleading information. The claims that this was the work of “low-level” agents with no “political bias” is absurd at best. Even as President Obama briefly addressed the nation and claimed he had accepted the resignation of the acting IRS commissioner effective in June. The same time the commissioner was set to leave anyway.
And sadly, we’ve only scratched the surface. Obviously, to be continued.
